Racing activities are always fun and adventurous. Most of the car races are enjoyed by a lot of people and it has gained a lot of popularity for different reasons. The cars that are used on the races are specifically designed to fit their purposes. Also you will notice that most of the drivers are well trained and prepared for the races under all conditions.
There are many different racing categories as:

  •  Formula racing
  • Touring car racing
  • Sports-car racing
  • One-make racing
  • Stock car racing
  • Rallying
  • Drag racing
  • Off-road racing
  • Kart racing

Formula one racing is the most popular competition. Besides all standard rules (including tires, fuel and similar) this year we had some interesting novelties as KERS and DRS. Touring car racing features derived race cars. The most important competition in this category is V8 Supercars with it’s famous grid girls. Sports-car racing is mainly featuring grand tourers cars with two seats and enclosed wheels. Race length in this competitions can vary form 2 hrs to a whole day. One-make racing is related to the one manufacturer and all cars in the competition must be related to the single car model. The Porsche supercup is the most famous competition in this category. Stock car racing is related to oval tracks and it is almost exclusive to Nort America – Nascar. One of the feature races is Daytona 500. Rallying – here we have a Group A and group N cars – modified cars related to homologated classes and the main competition is WRC Drag racing – is related to short races about 500 m long. The vehicles are racing in parallel lines and the speed can be as high as 500 km/h since they can use so called (modified) cars: Dragster Off-road racing – these cars are specifically constructed and as the name says races are conducted in environments that are not usual in racing. So most known race is Paris Dakar which is actually a desert race. Kart racing – another name for this category is Karting and it is mostly related to amateurs – but many professional drivers in other categories has started their careers in these amateur competitions.

So all in all we can say that there are plenty of resources related to car racing in general. Although some of them are related to different regions you can easily follow all important news, races, images, videos and similar on Internet. One of the best websites for this purpose is Speedcafe.com which is focusing more on races related to V8 superacrs, Gold coast indy and similar. There you can also find many things related to drivers, competions regulations, interviews and last but not the least they have a separate page related to well known Grid girls with many images which are always a pleasure to watch.
